About Us
Myobrace® is a global brand established by parent company Myofunctional Research Co. (MRC) in 1989 which specialises in the development of intra-oral appliances systems that are designed to treat the underlying causes of crooked teeth, poor jaw growth and sleep-related breathing disorders.
Over the past 100 years there has been considerable research published on the causes of orthodontic problems and in the 1980s Dr. Chris Farrell discovered that most of these problems related to incorrect breathing, swallowing and jaw growth. Unfortunately, most of the dental and medical profession did not know or accept this research at the time, despite the majority of children developing crooked teeth (professionally known as a malocclusion) and many adults suffering pain from TMJ disorder. These widespread problems were not adequately treated because of a lack of knowledge and resources. As a result, Dr. Farrell founded MRC and created a treatment system designed to address the underlying causes of modern orthodontic problems and breathing disorders using intra-oral appliances. The Myobrace® treatment system is the latest evolution in early orthodontics and is now used on over 100 countries worldwide.
Myobrace® offers a range of appliance systems suitable for the treatment of orthodontic issues affecting most patients; from children right through to adults. Although The Myobrace® System is now used by many practitioners globally, patients often do not realise the added health benefits it offers. The main goal of Myobrace® treatment is not just straightening teeth without braces or extractions, it is to provide a therapuetic option that aims to achieve lifelong positive results on the development and health of patients.
